Cho Ku Rei

Reiki is a form of energy healing to promote relaxation and well-being. It is based on the concept that a universal life force energy flows through all living things and can be channeled to heal the body, mind, and spirit. One of the essential elements of Reiki practice is the use of symbols, and one of the most widely used symbols in Reiki is the Cho Ku Rei symbol.

The Cho Ku Rei symbol, also known as the Power symbol, is one of the first symbols that Reiki students learn. It is a simple but powerful symbol that is used to enhance the flow of energy and increase the power of Reiki healing. The symbol is believed to have been used in ancient Tibetan Buddhism and is said to represent the connection between the physical and spiritual realms.

The Cho Ku Rei symbol is made up of three parts: the top spiral, the middle straight line, and the bottom spiral. The top spiral represents the spiritual realm, the middle straight line represents the physical realm, and the bottom spiral represents the connection between the two. When used in Reiki practice, the symbol is said to help connect the practitioner to the universal life force energy and to amplify the flow of energy to the recipient.

One of the ways that the Cho Ku Rei symbol can be used is to draw it in the air or on a surface before beginning a Reiki session. This is believed to activate the symbol and bring its energy into the session, enhancing the healing power of Reiki. The symbol can also be drawn directly onto the body of the recipient, either with the hand or using a crystal wand, to focus the energy on a particular area.

The Cho Ku Rei symbol is also used in distant or absentee healing. In this practice, the practitioner visualizes the symbol and sends Reiki energy to a person or situation that is not physically present. The symbol is believed to help amplify the energy and make the distant healing more effective.

In addition to its use in Reiki healing, the Cho Ku Rei symbol is also used for protection and grounding. Drawing the symbol in the air or on a surface is believed to create a protective barrier around the practitioner or the area, while drawing the symbol on the body is said to help ground and stabilize the recipient.

Overall, the Cho Ku Rei symbol is a powerful tool in Reiki practice, helping to enhance the flow of energy, amplify the healing power of Reiki, and connect the practitioner to the universal life force energy. Its simplicity and versatility make it a valuable addition to any Reiki practitioner's toolkit.
